Hi, can anyone recommend a local company that hires transit vans cheaply by the day. My son is moving from Newbury to Basingstoke and is on a limited budget. Thanks

Some time ago, I rented a 7.5 ton van with a tail lift from SixT at their Rabbit Depot on West Ham. It was around £200. I think a small van was about half the price but we needed the big van and the tail lift as we were moving a whole home full of furniture. By hiring the bigger van with the tail lift, we did it in one day instead of paying for overnight rental.
What I really liked about the service was that I went there with my husband and my boys but I was the only one with a valid licence and the ability to drive such a large van (as a guide, if you took your test long enough ago to have the old style paper licence you can drive a very large van but I don't know the exact details.) They asked open-mindly which of us would be driving instead of doing that thing that I hate of ignoring women and assuming one of the men would drive. The men were just with me to navigate and load the furniture.
I don't remember the number but I do remember that they were in the phone book under sixT even though the depot was branded as Rabbit.
