Have a chat about the Chrismas do on Saturday, and let me know what venue the majority wants to go to and I will organise it.
Hy Colin we missed you ............. As to the Christmas Dinner / Meet I think the consensus of those who where at the meet was for a Pub venue where those who did not want to eat could join in later. The Bounty and the White Hart were mentioned but I guess any good pub in a fairly central location would be fine.
We all had great fun last year at Dexter's but I think a pub would be more inclusive for those who don't want to eat.
I'm sure it would be helpful to Colin if he had an idea as to the number likely to come and any suggestions to date, time and venue and if you want to eat or not. This would not commit you but would help with organising it.
Subject to not having any work commitments I'm up for it so count me in.
I wont attend the meal as i dont like eating in public to much but will pop in after the meal for a beer
How about 20th December in the Way Inn at 7PM?

Might be a good idea to give an idea of the cost and menu if you could Colin to help people decide. Also will people need to commit in advance i.e. booking and payment?
I've just withdrawn from another Christmas meal priced at £20 minus a few pennies . They had the cheek to add a 20% service charge because we are a large group, what is that about? Twenty two pounds! for what going on what I've eaten there before will be a pretty indifferent meal.
No company worth that amount of money is it

You bleedin' tight wad!

The food there is normal pub prices the alternative is Wetherspoons, witch would people prefer?
Sorry to be pedantic Colin, but that isn't alot of use as pub prices vary from pub to pub. Maybe a rough average of their prices could help?
The average food price is around £3 to £4 more than Wetherspoons (£6.50 for Christmas dinner), but you get what you pay for. I think we have had better meets in the Way Inn and the Castle but if more people will have food in Wetherspoons then lets go there, but I will need firm numbers so I can pay a deposit.

Count me out on this one Colin ... business is so bad I think the only Christmas meal I will get will be Credit Crunch

Sorry if I am being a bit thick - does that mean that it costs £10.50 i.e. £4 more than Weatherspoons which is £6.50. Is that the price of the full meal? So how much is the deposit? Or do we just pay in full as a deposit?

Presumably you would like people to bring deposits to the November meet next week so that you can pay the deposit in time.
