Ofcom are investigating the antics of these two 'funny' guys - it is the fact that Ross gets £6M of OUR money a year that has really provoked the outrage. I've just read the transcript of the phone call and it's actually not very funny at all - if any heads should roll what about the guy that listened to the recording and thought it was OK to go out on air.

Being funny seems to be the excuse for lots of antisocial behaviour today.... how many times have I heard "we was only having a laugh"
I've got some time for Ross but he crossed the line this time and your right Jane it weren't even funny.
I think it was particularly shabby behaviour from the both of them, doesn't matter who they are or what they get paid it was just plain pathetic.

Apologies to 7777 I know you don't like the Daily Mail but it's the only one I could find with a written transcript (for those of us who don't have sound on our pc's)
As I've said in the OP - it's not even funny, why someone thought this was Ok to air - I just don't understand. The so called apology from Brand didn't help the situ either.
Now this thing is getting out of all proportion, what with politicians puffing themselves up with indignation, hasn't Brown got a country to run and Cameron sleaze to control. Not to mention all the other media on a feeding frenzy in trying to kick the BBC's teeth in.
Throwing stones in a glasshouse comes to mind.
A good distraction from some of the real issues that the governing classes should be dealing with.
While they are bashing Rossy and co they hope we will forget the criminal bankers and there cohorts who should have fallen on there swords in there droves.
Let the BBC and
Offcom deal with this silly episode and no personally I don't think they should be sacked just reigned in and given clear guidelines.

Agreed. To be honest, I'm not sure that this whole episode isn't a publicity stunt for the young lady in question. Now, everyone knows the name of her band, and I'm sure the "Youtube" videos of them playing, and their own website are getting a huge amount of hits because of this.
Don’t sack them just cancel all there shows. Then let them rot in the BBC broom cupboard for 6 months !

Wonder how many of those complaining actually watched/listened to the item in question. I'm no big fan of Ross and Brand but this seems to have more to do with envy (juedging by the amount of comments about their salaries on the BBC webpage) than with the issue itself.
