Energy-saving light bulbs
I have a mixture of various types of energy-saving light bulbs.
I have some that at like a spiral. They come on quickly, give excellent light and fit in a light shade but I cannot find them above 60w equivalent. I have some long ones shaped like 3 arches which come on fairly quickly and give excellent light but protrude from my light shades and don't fit in my glass light shades. I have some that are light bulb-shaped and they fit in my light shades and look really good but they take forever to warm up and give poor light. I prefer the fit and appearance of the bulb-shaped light bulbs but they are just not doing the job. Has anyone else found this? Perhaps it is because I bought a cheap deal from Tesco. Has anyone bought bulb-shaped energy-saving light bulbs that work really well? Is it worth paying more for an expensive brand? |

RE: Energy-saving light bulbs
Most of the lightbulb-shaped ones are just the tube ones enlosed in a phosphor-coated glass dome. The aim is to make them look like traditional bulbs. The delay is the warm-up time of the phosphorous.
I keep hitting 'Escape' but I'm still here. |
