RE: Jacko
If some one is found not guilty by a court of law then they are innocent. If some one has done something wrong they will get what they deserve.

Gary Glitter was found guilty in more than 1 country and that is a totally different situation.

Legally the term innocent doesn't exist - it's either guilty or not guilty which is different. Accademic as far as Jacko is concerned as he was never tried in the first case - civilly (he paid off his accusor) and criminally (he paid off the witness). If you believe that wrongdoers get what they deserve you have an 'innocent' view of the legal process.

Afterwards, by his own admission, some of the accusations were found to be true. The actions he has admitted to would be sufficient in most countries to result in at the least a restriction on his movements and activities.

Let's separate the man from his work. His singing and dancing may have brought delight to many people. I'm happy for them. Personally I think he was good for a period that lasted two albumns. There are more deserving people in the music industry who have really influenced music or had a greater output. As a man he was probably verging on being mentally ill and if it wasn't for his fame he would have probably been sectioned and had his kids taken off him not long after he stuck bags over their heads and dangled them off a balcony. Did he molest young boys - actually probably not but the actions he was known to do are sufficient for me to know that the Michael Jackson everyone saw in the last decade or so was as much a manufactured and marketed commodity as any X Factor winner.

I keep hitting 'Escape' but I'm still here.

RE: Jacko
Saw the footage this morning of his rehearsel for upcoming pop concert. Found it very eerie - but have to say he looked sharp as ever / sang excellently and dance moves and originality were as sharp as ever.

Great great loss.

PS - Dont care about us was my personal favourite of his and with this new footage i expect that single to be re-released and in at number 1.

Certainly the greatest music star in my generation.

Fair point but even including them (he was only 20%) they were never as successful as he was solo. If he hadn't had his later fame would so many people now recognise the J5 or their work?

For the record I was thinking of Off The Wall and Thriller. Both excellent albumns but owing a lot to excellent production for the time. His next one, Bad, was the most appropriately named albumn ever released.

I keep hitting 'Escape' but I'm still here.

It depends I mean some of the singles they did are still quite big hits or "classic tunes" when ever anyone talks about jackson dont they talk about his work first and then say "oh he was also in the jackson 5... they werent so bad"

RE: Jacko
Thank god Music is all down to personal choice - how can you doubt Bad with classics timeless at that of such great songs like:

1. Bad
2. Way You Make Me Feel
3. Speed Demon
4. Liberian Girl
5. Just Good Friends
6. Another Part Of Me
7. Man In The Mirror
8. I Just Can't Stop Loving You
9. Dirty Diana
10. Smooth Criminal
11. Leave Me Alone
12. Street Walker
13. I Just Can't Stop Lovin' You

Jackson was successful in re-inventing himself and has done that throughout his career - he was never going to slow down...and This is It tour was going to be is last intensive fast action concert to finish his illustrious pop career....he was never going to carry on into his late fifties etc.
