Hi all!
Good Morning!

Just thought I'd introduce myself. After moving down to Sherfield from the North East in 1986 I've spent almost 3/4 of my life here now so kind of part of the fixtures and fittings.

I'm currently researching the town and the 'hundred' for a book I'm writing on myths, legends and hauntings as there doesn't seem to be one. If anyone has any stories to tell them please do email me andrew @ paranormaltours.com as I would love to hear from you.

Many people seem to think that the town is relatively new, however there are mentions of it in the Domesday Book of 1086 so it is a great deal older and really full of history. Sadly the town itself today doesn't really come across as a historic place but there are some signs of its age if you look close enough.

All the best everyone
Andrew
