Saturday's series finale was seen by an average of 5.1 million people - down on the 8 million who watched new Doctor Matt Smith's debut in April.

It was also less than half the audience who tuned in to watch former Doctor David Tennant's final episode on New Year's Day.

Lets hope the BBC do the decent thing and pull the plug on this failing and dated series.
