RE: Mayor's Fireworks Thursday 5th November
Back to the Mayor's Fireworks, I notice some comments in the Gazette asking for them to start on time. It would be so good if they did. Delaying the start is rewarding the people who do not take the time and trouble to turn up in good time while those who did freeze or get wet.
I remember a few years ago going with a friend who is a single mum with 5 kids. She had bought a family ticket plusextra childrens tickets and that was all her money gone. We stood there for an hour in the freezing cold with kids pestering for food and rides that they could not have. The delay turned the outing into a miserable experience. A prompt start or your money back would be fair on those who save to afford the ticket or at least food vouchers like airlines etc give when something is delayed. The entrance price could be increased for late arrivers to cover this. |
