Quiet around here
Where is everyone?
The forum used to be lively but has been rather quiet recently. A few people are viewing. Does no-one have anything to say? |

RE: Quiet around here
Must admit the quality of threads and new topics (and i blame myself in that as well) has been pretty poor of late.
With the word game (which you all know i detest and find embarrassing) having the most replies and reads pretty much sums it up for me. Are there not enough of those types of sites people can join in elsewhere? Post ramp away!! |

RE: Quiet around here
There are times when posting it seems that threads are started and promptly answered by negative attitudes and taken in a totally new direction about how it `ought' be improved even more.
Ive felt in the past that bashing ones head against a brick wall is more productive than attempting to get a point even of support across. So now I read more and post less...........a policy I find pays dividends I don`t do humour. Never give up lifes to short. |

RE: Quiet around here
Some threads get hijacked and taken off in a completely different direction according to the agendas of some. When that happens I usually duck out, recycling the same old arguments in a thread can also get dull.

RE: Quiet around here
I agree going round the same things is pretty dull. It is great to see some new topics started.
The thing about reading instead of posting is that if everyone does it, there is nothing to read. I have been posting a lot less. You would think this would give others a chance but sometimes the word association was the only thread that anyone posted on. |

Fair points - this forum does rely on you too much for starting threads. Others, including myself, should start more (although in my defence you do often beat me to it on some topics!). To me this forum is pretty good - it just needs more regular contributors who want to share their opinions. We don't want a forum that degenerates into name calling and nastiness on the one hand, but conversely a forum where everyone agrees with each other and never discusses contentious issues would soon die off from boredom IMO. People believe what they want to believe. |
