Computers & Gaming.
I've taken this from Vent your Spleen.

don't do it non-stick! My other half plays this endlessly. It drives me nuts. there's only so much "cant we have dinner earlier I need to raid tonight" I can take...

Does anyone else play online games? If so which ones?

Mr Stick. I tried WoW just after Christmas & must be the only person to have gotten bored with it. As a non-linear game I found it too open, without any big quest to strive for.
Also the monthly fee although not extortionate in itself when you add up how much time you need to spend playing does mount up quite quickly. I deleted my account after only a month.

If you gaze for long into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

this one's a bit different, but is probably one for the geeks, I enjoyed playing it through to the end, not sure if it counts as a true on-line game though: fantastic contraption
It's amazing the number of different solutions people come up with for some of the problems

Pro Evolution Soccer on the Wii - highly addictive. Can't stand people that switch off when they are losing though.

I am Pro Evo but on the PS3. I have only recently got into it and love it. Play with my mates across town and now we even do 2 on 2 but from four separate homes - incredible. 25 years or so ago it was games like hypersports, elite, trolley wally that grabbed our attention.

Pro evo on wii any good? Struggle to work out how that works!

Yeah, fantastic. Difficult to explain but you kind of drag players around (can be on the ball or to receive a pass or to draw defenders away etc).

In fact my only real gripe with the Wii version is that there is no penalty for switching off during an online game - I've lost count of the times I've been ahead in a game and the other player disconnects to protect his stats. (Just realised I kind of already posted that).

I can't begin to imagine how much time in total I've played Pro Evo but it could well add up to months of playing time across the three versions I've owned (2008, 09, 10). Several Italian league seasons (I've become a Juventus fan because of Pro Evo and am going to see the real team play), at least a couple of hundred online games, International Cups, Master League, European Cups, and countless Champions Leagues. Forza Bianconeri!
