Take yer chance or keep it shut.
All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy. |

RE: Am I bovvered? Poll
When you think that the suffragettes protested and died to get women the vote, I think that women who done use this hard-won privileged are letting themselves down.
I may be sceptical but do you think it is coincidence that single young adults are a group less likely to bother voting and the recent tax cuts favoured the well off and those with families over single people. |

RE: Am I bovvered? Poll
i dont usually bother cos im not keen on any of the parties involved, i love the way they come round and say, "have you met you local MP", i usually say no and after today im not likely to see them again,
im in the higest tax bracket with no children so there is nothing they can offer me personally, when a party comes along and lowers tax for the single person and reverses fuel costs then i will be first in the que belive me |

RE: Am I bovvered? Poll
With our system of "democracy" the leaders in our community should be elected by a MAJORITY vote. This is IMPOSSIBLE with the system we have in this country as it is not democratic. With more than two parties only the largest MINORITY will win & thus the majority of the public feel hard done by. Unfortunately I dont have the answer as to what would be a better system, otherwise I'd suggest it to parliament & watch all those fat cats crap themselves as they see their cushy lives walking out the door.
If you gaze for long into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you. |

southern modified car club Wrote:im in the higest tax bracket with no children so there is nothing they can offer me personally, when a party comes along and lowers tax for the single person ...... ....you would pay no tax on the first £5,435, 20% on the next £36,000 rather than 22% so you will be better off paying less income tax. I think that gives you £720 extra in your pocket, as a low earner I will pay up to £136 more tax. You have to earn at least £16,000 before you start becoming a winner in the new tax bands or be on tax credits. Labour the new Sheriff of Nottingham robs the poor to give to the rich. Local election or not I will be voting on this issue alone. |

RE: Am I bovvered? Poll
It is sad to see this forum dragged into politics, but with local elections coming up and emotions running high it's pretty understandable. Despite my own micky taking nobody can cover up the awful cock up of cutting out the 10p tax rate for the people on the lowest incomes and I applaud the person here who referred to the Sheriff of Nottingham.
Someone also mentioned how lucky we are to have the right to vote and to waste it would be a crime. It is also worth remembering that Mugabe is not the only dictator who tries to control the vote. Our unions do just the same. They may not beat us with sticks or burn our homes but 'recommendations' are made and funds are collected which seek to influence a democratic process. Use your vote - there are people in this world who are dieing to use theirs. |
