A New Beginning

As the title says "A New Beginning", I can't be bothered to wait for explanations from my host or do go through as similar experience again using phpbb so I have decided to ditch phpBB and go for this new board. Before anyone says "why don't you import all the old data" I have decided to take this opportunity to start a fresh and wipe the slate clean.

May I extend my thanks to those of you who offered help and even alternative hosting and those of you who were kind enough to send a message of support.

Anyone who was a member of the old forum is welcome to register again, I know it's a pain but it only takes a few moments and hopefully this board will be more stable than the last.

Over the next few days/weeks I will try and put things back to how they were in respect of the overall design.

There is a new feature on this board and that is the calendar, from what I understand it has the ability for members to post events as well as members birthdays.

Do explore the different options and let me know what you think, if there is a particular forum that you wish to have here then let me know and I will try and accommodate it.

So here's to the new board and lets try not to break this one.

Thanks seamatt for getting the new board going. I don't blame you for giving up waiting for 1and1.

I think it is nice that we will have a new start. Some of the post counts (mine included) were getting rather high so it is good to reset and start again.

I even managed to register for this without breaking it.

I know that you have spent a lot of time sorting this out over the past few day. Thanks for all you have done. The new board looks great.

This new site is excellent seamatt.

I really like the wider range of options in the user control panel and the 'if you don't want to wait, click here' option for impatient people like me.

Other excellent features include:
It shows who is on line on the avatars
It shows the number of seconds you exceed the flood rate by
The user details are back on the right again.

When you have a moment (not urgent as I know how much time you have put in recently), please could we have some more emoticons especially :red: and :-X (applause) and could you move the calendar on by 1 month to synchronise the date with the labels. If possible, could you also set the reply option so that it does not quote the post that you reply to.

I know that I am being a pain asking for more things but these are only wish-list items for whenever you are ready. Thanks again for the site. I know how demoralising the problems have been and I really appreciate it that you have kept the site going.

It's on my list, the default emoticons are a bit washed out and lacking in choice

The calendar seems to have BIG problems (hence its been removed for now)

There are two ways of replying, you can either click on the icon in the bottom right of a post (this will quote all the text of that post) or click on the reply icon at the bottom left of the thread.
