Wink September Meet
For sometime the meets have been on a Friday evening not a good day for me and some others I understand.

I also feel 7:30 is rather early for those coming from work and have family responsibilities.

Although we have had the conversation before it has been sometime so thought I'd give it a try again for thoughts on the form, venue and time of week.

Included a poll

RE: September Meet
Any evening should be fine for most of us as long as most agree I suppose, but the start time is surely just a 'guide' as people turn up at various times during the evening.

As only eight people have voted in the poll for the best time of week for a meet the result is hardly conclusive.

Out of those that voted Saturday is the favourite, although there is no organising involved other than the setting of the date and venue it would probably be better if someone else made the decision. This is due to my varying and last minute work commitments therefore I could not guarantee to be there. Likewise who ever takes the baton should not feel bound by the poll result as so few took part to make it really relevant.

I will definitely be there should I be free and would encourage all those who have considered it, not to be put off by some of the extreme views expressed by some in another thread.

I have been to about half over the years and found everyone welcoming and friendly I have enjoyed every one attended big and small.

RE: September Meet
As this isn't attracting much response and we are half way through September already, I suggest leaving it until October.

I don't know if it is because there have been a few arguments or maybe because people are a bit short at the moment but if not many people are responding and those that are cannot commit, maybe it might be an idea to leave it until October.

What does everyone else think?

Thats a shame I suspect it is partly as you say Della there is a schism amongst some forum members. However this should not stop old and newer members from suggesting a venue and date but you are probably right its a bit late for September........ or is it?

It entails nothing more than setting a time and a venue and ideally turning up (though thats optional) Meets are not a big deal! people come and go and they have been large and small. If you are the one to set the time you are not held responsible for what happens, usually thats having a good time as has happened at all the one I've been too. I brought a non forum friend a few meets back she was made to feel very welcome and had the time of her life.

As Morrissey sang...................

Shyness is nice and
Shyness can stop you
From doing all the things in life
You'd like to.............Cool
