RE: Pie shop?
Right as we're all feeling nostalgic I'm hoping one of our older members will be able to help me out. I'm sure most of us will remember the old Star Video shop on Southern Road, well before this it was a newsagent called either Clements or Clemence something of that ilk. Now unless the ol' cells are letting me down these days I'm sure there was a pub opposite on the same side of the road before the car park was placed there. Can somebody please put me out of my misery and tell me if I'm right and what it was called 'cos its driving me potty and Mrs. Pic thinks I'm losing my mind. Smile

Remember a dogs not just for Christmas. With good meal planning and decent carving it should last until Easter!

Fancy, pic forgetting a pub? Now that's amazing!

Sadly I only remember the area when 'Star video' was the only one in town (I fink.) We virtually had to queue to get in didn't we?
I don't think video/dvd shops are so popular nowadays are they? Maybe it's cheaper to buy dvd's, or just download them instead. Maybe so many people use Sky/Virgin and just watch what they offer?

RE: Pie shop?
Going back to the original thread, has anyone tried Morrisons pies, I know they are not up to the standard Griggs & others had but they are good .
( This is not a promotion but if Morrisions want to give me a free pie I am open to the thought)

Yup there was a pub there. The road was Cambridge Terrace
