RE: Vent your Spleen!!
Commuting!

Everything about commuting but in particular:
- seat that are far too small for a normal size human being, wtf thought it was a good idea to fit such small seats on the train
- idiots who make a noise in the quiet carriage
- getting up far too early
- walking in the freezing cold
- refreshment trolleys on crowded trains, it is obviously impossible to push a trolley down an aisle full of people standing
- people who stand (in the doorway) when there are seats, it just makes it hard to get on the train; if a seat is free, use it don't clutter the doorway.

I have no idea how some people manage to commute every day. It would kill me.

Me too - main reason I looked for a job closer to home. The rare occassions I now have to do it are now quite enjoyable as it gives me the chance to listen to music and read. But then I am lucky enough to be able to route to Paddington via Reading. By ignoring the the first couple of connections and giving it 5 minutes or so (they are that regular from Reading) I always get a seat.

Into Waterloo and the Underground though <shudders>

In fairness to Thorntons.....
A strong email to the above brought a swift and generous apology from them.
They are questioning the couriers for not knocking the door etc before just 'dumping ' the parcel, seeing if their packing dept can come up with a 'plain wrapping' option on deliveries etc.
They fully refunded the cost of the item and postage
